The Kerala State Committee on Science and Technology came into existence in 1972 as a wing of the Department of Planning and Economic Affairs, Government of Kerala. The Committee was reorganized and expanded as “Science, Technology & Environment Committee” (STEC) in 1984 and finally to the present Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment (KSCSTE) in 2002.
